Research and Testing

At all stages of the design and development, I validated the work with end users. We wanted to know before putting anything live if there were going to be any show stoppers. Regular validation also kept the project on track with management.

Aims

At all stages of the design and development, I validated the work with end users. We wanted to know before putting anything live if there were going to be any show stoppers. Regular validation also kept the project on track with management.

Methods

Alongside the design work, I ran a constant loop of testing for the projects. The standard approach was one to one sessions in-house and was later augmented by remote testing. I would deliberately put ideas that I thought would not work or ideas I was unsure about into testing. The aim was not to always get green lights but to ensure we got some yellow and red indicators as well.

Outcome

In each session, we found things that needed improving and, occasionally, found bigger issues.
It helped us keep the project on track and build confidence in the management team.
